Cat in the Christmas Tree

Anyone have any ideas of how to keep your cat out of the Christmas tree? We adopted another cat this year. He is a little over a year old and so sweet, but as soon as the Christmas tree went up, he was sleeping towards the top of the tree. Thank goodness I don't have many glass ornaments.
